a visit from Bill Hersey

Bill Hersey was my partner for many years. This is in my apartment shortly after we met in 1965. He was an architecture student at Yale, I a graduate student in biology at Harvard.

The molecule lamp is my widely-publicized take on Bill Grover’s innovative lighting concept for Charles Moore’s house in New Haven, Connecticut.

In back is a poster made from four prints of Marlon Brando, an early example of dithering. A similarly-constructed image of Timothy Leary appeared on the cover of the Harvard alumni magazine around the same time.
